Can you sleep with a Savannah cat?

King Kyro Absolutely! I will offer some advice to give you the best chance possible to have a good night sleep and not get woken up at 2 AM to play fetch, or at 5 AM begging for a treat. When you get your Savannah Kitty many enjoy hanging out in their bedroom and watch TV to unwind for the day, which is totally fine. The problem most people make is that they lay in bed while watching TV is play fetch with their Savannah or get a feather wand and move their arm around while chilling. That only teaches the Savannah that the bed is a great place to play. Many people wonder why 2 AM cats brings them a ball or bite their toes, they’re ready to play! My recommendation is when getting your baby, you only play with them on the floor or in a chair, any other spot besides your bed. Once you get in bed, only pet them calmly and talk gentle. Encourage them to take a nap and that playtime is over. They will learn that the bed is for sleeping and not playtime. Enjoy snuggle time with your Savannah.

What do Savannahs  eat?

Savannahs are considered domestic cats and can be fed cat food like any other domestic. BUT don’t go cheap. Just like a fancy car should have premium gas. Your fancy cat should have premium food.  They should be on a high protein non grain food, mostly wet,  dry can be offered for snacking.

I feed my Savannah’s a raw chicken diet that I make, grinding up chicken in my meat grinder. Meat, bones, organs, skin and all. Leg quarters boneless, chicken breast, hearts, gizzards, liver, and alternate through the meat grinder.

I then add vitamins and supplements to each feeding so they have a balanced diet.   I do offer dry food to the adults to free grazing  in between the morning and evening feedings. The dry food I use is NutriSource.

But there are lots of high quality dry foods out there. Be sure that when you get your kitten that you keep your fur baby on the same food that the breeder used and GRADUALLY change their diet if you choose to. Never abruptly change food or it will make them sick. Just like any other cat.

I also feed my cats, whole pray, such as baby chicks, guinea pigs and quail. I ordered them online, they come frozen. I thaw  them and feed them. And they love it!
