Designer Mini Doodles went the other direction – adding steps to the process rather than cutting them, documenting everything rather than describing it verbally, and building a reputation on outcomes rather than aesthetics.

The phrase gets used loosely. As mini doodle breeders who have been doing this for over a decade, we have watched the category fill with programs whose standards vary enormously. The goldendoodle’s popularity attracted a lot of people who saw an opportunity. Some of them built genuinely good programs. Many did not.
